A Reflection on these 2 years:
2 Years….
2 years of war.
2 years of tears.
2 years of watching the news nonstop.
2 years thinking of our alumnae, their families, and everyone in Gaza.
2 years of wondering how we can help.
2 years unable to find the right words to comfort them.
2 years when asking “How are you?” lost its meaning—because we already know the answer.
2 years of killing.
2 years of displacement.
2 years since I last laughed from my heart.
2 years that changed me—maybe forever.
My prayer: that this is the first step toward ending the occupation, toward self-determination, toward peace.
These two years were so heavy.
We lost 3 alumnae in Gaza—but we didn’t give up.
Family members of two of our Israeli alumnae were killed; other alumnae lost their friends.
We held two alumnae summits, one Teen Leadership Program in Switzerland,
received a USAID grant for the first time—and lost it,
ran Trauma Healing Seminars,
organized a humanitarian aid campaign for Gaza,
worked tirelessly on testimonials from our Gazan participants
We ran a language program, our U.S. Peace Ambassadors Program, 2 public speaking tours, and had hundreds of staff meetings. And more.
We kept walking,
even when our hearts were breaking.
Throughout these two years, we insisted on and worked hard to maintain our connection as a team, standing together in constant tension of hard reality and through unbearable events.
A new chapter begins now.
And our work should be doubled in Gaza
I want to go there—to meet them, to feel, to connect,
to rebuild hope together.
Our work in Tomorrow’s Women is more important now than ever—to rebuild trust between Israelis and Palestinians,
to rebuild the belief that peace is still possible,
that compassion can still exist after all this pain. 🕊️💔
After two years we can finally breathe.
Thank you, Ameera, my colleague, my partner.
Thank you, Noa.
We’ve walked through fear, loss, and exhaustion—yet we refused to give up. It wasn’t easy but we survived. Hopefully we never again have to go through a similar experience. Let’s keep going, with courage.
