FUTURES LAB: Investing in the Next Generation of Women Peacebuilders
Tomorrow’s Women provides opportunity, connections and skills so Palestinian, Israeli and US young women can lead with empathy, courage, and cross-community understanding. The Futures Lab is our newest initiative — a leadership and professional development program built to support civic changemakers ready to influence the future of democracy in Israel and Palestine.
Why It Matters
In today’s fractured world, women — especially young women — remain largely absent from public life. Yet their
participation is proven to make peace more durable and communities more resilient. The Futures Lab responds to this gap by equipping TW’s Israeli and Palestinian alumnae with practical tools for civic engagement, political
organizing, and collaborative problem-solving.
What We’re Doing

A cohort of half Israeli Jewish and half Palestinian women will participate in a series of leadership
intensives that build from local to international collaboration:

-
Binational Retreat – A shared weekend summit in Area C (Talitha Kumi)
focused on tackling polarization, and legal constructs for a
post-conflict state, and negotiation skills through an environmental justice
lens.
-
Futures Summit – Northern Ireland – A six-day “boot camp” at a peace
center in Annalong with Friends Forever International, hosted with
international partners such as the Nobel Women’s Initiative, Ecopeace, and Irish
activists involved in crafting and sustaining the Good Friday Agreements.
Here, participants learn from global activists, Nobel laureates, US Congress members, Irish activists, and
Israel/Palestine peace and security experts.

-
Featured activists include Mairead Maguire, Jody Williams, Pramila Jayapal; Maria Butler, Ann Patterson, Netta Loevy, Rana Qaimari, Nida Shoughry, Limor Yehuda – all of whom have transformed conflict into collaboration, division into hope.

The Impact

The Futures Lab will:

-
Cultivate a network of trained women prepared to lead in politics, civil
society, media, human rights and climate justice.
-
Foster genuine collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian women
leaders.
-
Create a replicable model for women’s democratic engagement in
conflict zones.
-
Each participant becomes a ripple of change—bringing dialogue,
empathy, and civic participation into the heart of her community.

Our Vision
By the end of the program, Futures Lab participants will not only have new
skills—they’ll have the confidence and connections to run for office, launch initiatives,
and reimagine what shared society can look like. This is how we turn hope into an infrastructure for peace.
