​Peace Ambassador Facilitator

​

Hybrid (Santa Fe), Part Time, Contract Work, Flexible Hours

 

February 2026 - May 2026; estimated 60 hours work total; 4 month contract fee, negotiable and based on experience. Ability to be in the Santa Fe area regularly required.

The Peace Ambassador Facilitator role with Tomorrow's Women (TW) guides a cohort of 12-15  high school aged young women, including trans and nonbinary young people, through a six-month leadership training program focusing on emotional resilience, conflict transformation, and peacebuilding through the lens of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. The Peace Ambassador program builds skills in emotional resilience, critical thinking, public speaking, teambuilding, allyship, and community engagement. 

 

This role asks for a warm, strong, knowledgeable, and supportive presence to facilitate the sessions in collaboration with local workshop leaders. Key responsibilities include recruiting participants, planning and coordinating the program schedule in collaboration with TW staff in the U.S. and Palestine/Israel, facilitating workshops from an existing United States Institute of Peace (USIP) curriculum (with room to shape the program), and supporting the participants in designing and implementing organizing a final community-based creative project, including partnering with peers in Israel/Palestine.

 

Core responsibilities

  • Recruitment: Working alongside TW staff to contact a network of local high schools, youth programs and women-centered organizations to recruit a group of 12-14 young women (including trans and nonbinary participants), from around Northern New Mexico. Requires strong and organized communication through email, phone calls, and in-person presentations.  

  • Provide Mentorship and Facilitation: Mentor and guide young people (ages 15-18) throughout the immersive six-month program, including facilitating workshops

  • Develop Program Schedule: In consultation with TW staff and the USIP curriculum, plan and guide a cohesive series of 8-12 sessions over the six-month program (generally February-May with an optional summer component) focused on building essential leadership skills including emotional resilience, critical thinking, public speaking, teambuilding, allyship, and community engagement. 

  • Coordinate External Session Leaders: In consultation with TW staff, select and coordinate with local workshop leaders in the area to be a part of the program. Past workshop leaders have been experts on relevant topics including Compassionate Listening, Somatic Awareness, Public Speaking, Art Therapy, Media Literacy and Community Action. 

  • Project Management: Support the Peace Ambassadors creation and implementation of creative community based projects led by the Peace Ambassadors to inspire local action and promote peace.

  • Integrate the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict: In collaboration with TW staff, support Peace Ambassadors with educational trainings on historical narratives, hold space for generative dialogues, and help coordinate and facilitate cross-cultural connections with teens in Palestine and Israel as a part of the program. 

  • Support Evaluation: Work with TW’s Director of Impact to refine and implement pre- and post-program surveys to measure program impact and capture learning and participant feedback.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, and comfort leading and collaborating with teenagers

  • Experience in youth development and/or community organizing

  • Organized with a strong ability to multitask

  • Familiarity with conflict resolution, compassionate dialogue, and/or person-to-person diplomacy

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and a commitment to engaging with multiple narratives with curiosity and openness.

Our team will review applications on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be invited to interview, at which point we'll request contact information for two references.
