"...there have long been efforts to build connections between communities tied to the war. One example is Tomorrow’s Women, an organization dedicated to facilitating dialogue and empowering young Israeli and Palestinian women to work toward peace. This episode of Northwest Reports is an edited version of a live event at Town Hall Seattle where Lana Ikelan, a Palestinian journalist, and Noga Bar Oz, a Jewish Israeli musician, shared stories about growing up in a divided world, their work as peacemakers and the ways the war has impacted them. Afterward, the women, who met in 2016 through Tomorrow’s Women, spoke with Northwest Reports co-host Sara Bernard about their relationship, their experiences before and after the war began, and what they continue to hope for."

TOMORROW’S WOMEN: Palestinian and Israeli Young Women Come Together for “Courage and Leadership"

"This is the moment that Tomorrow's Women, created 20 years ago, was made for, a moment bleak with pain and suffering after October 7th, offering hope and a vision forward. Listen to the young women alumnae of the program, Noga Bar Oz, Lana Ikelan, both talking from Jerusalem, and the Executive Director, Holly Morris, from the offices in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, tell their story about this program. Tomorrow's Women brings young women from Israel to Santa Fe, far from conflicts and turmoil, to have a three week experience that changes them forever. Lana and Noga are on a journey to show how they became peacemakers and leaders in their communities, imagining and working toward a better future even in the midst of war. Their goal is to inspire all of us for change, for justice and for equality and peace."

"Noga is Jewish.  Lana, Palestinian.  Two women from opposite backgrounds whose people are locked in a devastating, bloody war in the Middle East.  The duo is touring the nation encouraging PEACE.  UNDERSTANDING. LOVE.  Don't miss Julie's interview with these two introspective women who envision an alternative to war. "
